What's in a name? ;D Kenshin: [Ken] in kanji = Sword. [Shin] kanji = Heart. So the name Hiko gave young Himura Shinta means Sword's Heart. Who would've thought a sake-loving reculse can coin such a meaningful name? It kinda shows Hiko's expectations of the kid then. He wants him to grow up as a truly honorable swordsman using Hiten Mitsurugi to protect the weak etc. Battousai is the name Kenshin was known by as a hitokiri in Katsura's employ. It refers to his favored fighting style, the battou stance where the attack is commenced in the same move as drawing the sword.
